Who we are

Angel of Mercy Inc.

Founded by Michelle Williams – Burn Survivor. Double Amputee. Advocate. Mother.

Michelle Williams' journey began with unimaginable pain—but it didn’t end there.

At just 14 months old, Michelle suffered severe burns from scalding hot water. She spent nearly two months on a ventilator, clinging to life. Though she survived, that moment marked the start of a lifetime filled with challenges—constant pain, countless surgeries, and the amputation of both legs at just 12 years old.

But Michelle didn’t let amputation define her. She saw it as a second chance at life.

She started college at 17 and earned her master’s degree by 21. With her new prosthetic legs, she charged forward, determined to live fully.

Everything changed again in 2019, when Michelle became a mother. Parenting brought a new set of challenges—especially the increased physical demands that require long hours in prosthetics.

Unfortunately, Medicaid doesn’t cover many of the essentials needed to maintain a functional and healthy life—liners, sleeves, socks, and other critical prosthetic parts. Michelle even spent nights sleeping in her car just to afford the prosthetics that gave her freedom.

“I'll need another SSI check just to pay for my everyday essentials for my legs,” Michelle says.
“Everybody can't be evil and heartless in this world—there has to be some kind of mercy.”

That mercy is Angel of Mercy Inc.

Michelle founded Angel of Mercy Inc. to support burn survivors and amputees by raising funds for essential equipment and care not covered by insurance. The organization helps provide:

  • Prosthetics & accessories (sleeves, liners, socks)

  • Wheelchairs & mobility devices

  • Hand controls for vehicles

  • Specialized beds, wound care supplies, and garments

  • Air conditioners for burn survivors' comfort

  • Compression wear and more

Michelle’s story is just one of millions—but together, we can change the narrative.
We can give people not just survival, but a chance to truly live.
